A Trip to Jakarta - February 2018

I was away for a vacation in Jakarta, Indonesia last weekend..
No hunt intention as I just felt the need to get away from work and life..
Had a great time there despite the rain, landslides and flood..
Wish a speedy recovery for Jakarta.

Stumbled upon a toy shop in Senayan City as I was making my way for dinner at The Halal Guys..

As I was walking off, the I saw this..

Kidz Station, Senayan City..

This is where it all started.. Already said to myself earlier, no diecast hunts during the trip, especially in Asean countries as the Collectors here are very enthusiastic bunch of people..
I do love to see what are available in in stores as usually the stuff offers differs from country to country.

Malaysia use to have this, sold out rather fast especially with hot cars attached to it, or even missing the hot cars.

There is plenty of this here.. and the price are good too..
The only problem is space in my luggage..
Such a hassle to pack and shipped them back to Malaysia..

Pretty nice Track set options. But crappy cars which stops me from buying them.

Mainlines options.
There are at least 400pcs of HW Originals and peg warmers..
Not even worthy muscle cars available.
And at RM10 per piece, I bet its gonna stay there till the next promotion.

Pretty decent assortments available, but peg warmers similar to Malaysia..
But the BMW Series can get a whole set.

And then I saw this..
Japan Historics 2 on the peg.
Not complaining thou even if there was only 2 type of castings available.
Took all JH2, and some Pop Culture and some Retro Entertainment cars..

Pretty decent assortments for Majorette Trucks.
Luckily not into these yet..
Some Tomica assortments.

More tomica cars..

This was on display and for kids to play with..
Such a huge playset..
Thinking of getting one for myself.

This sums up the purchased I made for the day..
Such a lucky find.

But then, things doesn't stop there...

Just opposite the apartment is a Shopping Mall named Central Park, Location Grogol.
Walk myself inside as the rains stops me from going anywhere else and with the flood warning given by the Government..
And the buying begins....

Tomica Cool Drive assortments.. Decent thou..

The only decent bunch of cars found, and sorted it nicely at them pegs..

Some cool Hot Wheels stuff, but only took the Pop Culture..

This was what I bought during the afternoon trip.

This sums up the purchased I made during the trip.
Not all for me, I bought for my friends too..

I was told that there are many other places to hunt around Jakarta area, but that was not the main reason I am there.. Decided to chill out rather than stress myself to go around the absolute busy traffic of Jakarta.
They do have places like Alpahe Maret and Indo Maret which similar to 7-Elevens and MyNews back in Malaysia.. Saw some Hot Wheels available there but nothing attracts me.

Had a great vacation, scored some neat stuff, and I am happy..
Now, need to save up for more vacation trip..
Enjoy the pics.

Cheers.

From a galaxy far far away....

The title says it all..

Here are the 2017 Pop Culture Star Wars.
Case # DLB45-934L

Comes with 12pcs Carded, 2 sets of 6 pcs..
But this does not cover the main character of the Star Wars franchise, instead, they only chooses the Bounty Hunters..
I didn't realise there are so many Bounty Hunters, well at least I knew Jango Fett and Boba Fett..
Check them out...

The unboxing video.

The box containers..

The complete set.
Some nice cars, weird characters, not fancy the carded thou...

1/6 - Boba Fett
'60s Ford Econoline Pickup.
First release of the casting.

2/6 Boss K
Deco Delivery

3/6 IG-88
'70 Chevelle Delivery

4/6 Zuckuss
Chevy Silverado Off Road

5/6 4-Lom
'64 GMC Panel

6/6 Dengar
Ford Transit Super Van

Seriously I do not know these Bounty Hunters.. Probably due to I did not follow the story as much..
I wonder how does Mattel decided to choose which character to fit what casting.
Overall is a nice piece if you are a carded collector, but unlike me, I loose everything..

The only 3 casting which I collect from the series.

The decals/graphics on the casting really sucks.

'60s Ford Econoline Pickup Truck.
The truck looks good..

It has a skateboard on the flatbed.

I like it when the do these detail touch, Ford name emboss to the rear truck.
But the paint totally ruins it all..
Looks thick..

'64 GMC Panel
Been collecting this casting way back when it was first introduce in the Delivery Series.

Clean and simply elegant.

Chevy Silverado Off Road.
Always a fan of 4x4.. and those RealRiders makes such a difference.

Rear view..

If you are a fan of Star Wars, this set would looks good in your collection.
Lucky enough they are kinda expensive, stops me from getting them just for the RealRiders.

Enjoy the pics.
Cheers.

It's a mad, mad .... Mad Magazine

It's a mad, MAD Magazine..

Introducing the newly release 2017 Pop Culture Series, Mad Magazine.

Mad (very often stylized as MAD) is an American humor magazine founded in 1952 by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines,[3] launched as a comic book before it became a magazine. It was widely imitated and influential, affecting satirical media, as well as the cultural landscape of the 20th century, with editor Al Feldstein increasing readership to more than two million during its 1974 circulation peak.[4] As of January 2017, Mad has published 544 regular issues, as well as hundreds of reprint "Specials", original material paperbacks, compilation books and other print projects.
- Info taken from Wikipedia

Read the magazine when I was young but couldn't really understand the humor back then..
And now Mattel is bringing some of the humor into Hot Wheels..

The Cases Code # DLB45-934K

Unboxing video of the case.

12 casting per cases. And the gave 2 crappy extras.
Why can't the give more of the Dodge A100..
Definitely better then the wiener looking casting and a sealed Chevy Panel.

The Mad Magazine set.

MAD Trademark.. on a '64 Chevy Nova Panel

The Mad Famous Agent Black
'66 Dodge A100

The Mad Famous Agent White
'66 Dodge A100

'55 Chevy Panel
I absolutely adore the casting but was totally put off when Mattel decided to put crappy colors and design with the sealed rear door which they previously had on its predecessors..

Haulin gas
Was never a fan of this casting.
And now with that color, this gonna be peg warmers, until someone decided to get them just for the realriders.

Hoping that in 2018, Mattel decided to do much interesting series like the old Garage Series..
Miss the good old days..

Enjoy the pics.
